The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organization (TUCO) expresses condolences to family and friends of the late Austin Lewis aka “King Austin”.
While we mourn his passing, we salute the contribution he made and celebrate his life. King Austin began his calypso career in 1976 with the CDC Calypso Tent. He was most famously known for his contributions of Progress, Guardians, The World Today and Special Loving.
In fact, his calypso “Progress” composed by Winsford “Joker” Devine is considered by many as the Calypso of the Century.
The funeral service for King Austin will take place on Friday 9th September, 1:30 pm at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Independence Square, Port of Spain, then to the Lapeyrouse Cemetery.
To his family and friends, we urge you to stay strong and may God’s blessings be upon you in this time of bereavement.
May he rest in peace.
Yours in Calypso
